Second activity of Agroalimentation and Health Cluster of CEI Moncloa

The Agroalimentation and Health Cluster of Campus of International Excellence Moncloa (CEI) participated in the tenth Science week Madrid 2010, with the following activity: “a visit guide to several centres of investigation which in the Agroalimentation corridor of Moncloa.

    This activity was organized by VISAVET, Health Surveillance Centre and the E.T.S.I. Agronomic of the Polytechnic University (UPM), in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary of Complutense University (UCM).


The visit guided takes place in the different Centres of Investigation in the Agroalimentation Corridor of Moncloa, the days of November 10, 11, 16, 17,18. The hour to visit it was from 10:00 a.m. until 14:00 hours.


The Meeting was opened by the lecture in the main hall of Veterinaty Faculty. The lecture last no longer than 30 minutes. After that, the assistants had the opportunity to visit the centres of investigation, which are the more interesting from the following options: the Veterinary Clinic Hospital and the Veterinary Museum of Complutense, the Laboratory of Physiology of the Lagomorfos Reproduction and VISAVET centre, the pilot plant of Science of Food Technology and the last option, the field of practice of the E.T.S.I. Agronomic.


Altogether were 184 people, mainly students for fourth ESO and to the second Bachillerato, who came from the 4 institutes of the Madrid Community.

The result of this event was very favorable as for the students as for the professors and like that two teachers of Institute told us that: “we are very comfortable and teachers and students will be ready to visit us again”. At the same time, another teacher added: “my students go back home delighted with the visits, although the rainfall in the Agronomic fields. The visit of the museum was wonderful for the passion of the professor who showed it us and for the whole curiosities that he gave to know. The Hall of Necrosis of the Hospital will give us to speak for along time and the reproduction of rabbits or the “tacto” that we were making a mare or “potro de montas”, “lavado integral” for the VISAVETS researchers. I hope to come next year."
